    JOB SUMMARY:


    The Design Engineer, EV Electrical will produce component and system specifications, designs, drawings, design verification procedures and reports to integrate and install the latest battery electric powertrains and systems.

    The engineer will work in the EV design group and support all design responsibilities for new or improved high-voltage systems, as well as supporting production.

    The successful candidate will be detail oriented and able to complete tasks in a consistent and accurate manner.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Assess project requirements such as technical challenges, engineering hours, risk assessment, etc.
    • Ensure designs meet FMVSS, State, and customer requirements.
    • Define or assist in definition of electrical system and component specifications.
    • Produce and implement designs, drawings, and test documentation.
    • Review electrical designs to ensure they are safe, robust, and efficient.
    • Focus on cost reductions and able to control project and testing costs.
    • Interact with system and component suppliers.
    • Communicate with internal cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Management, etc.)
    • Manage multiple projects and strive for on-time completion of deliverables.
    • Writing engineering reports and specification.
    • Providing technical advice and troubleshooting support.
    • Analyzing and interpreting engineering test data.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
    • Individual must me be technically minded, and able to manage projects and assigned objective to completion.
    • A minimum of 3 years" experience as a design engineer in a relevant automotive or truck environment required. Prior experience with electric vehicles is a plus.
    • Excellent written and oral technical communication skills.
    • Experience with several of the following areas of electrical integration: o CAN Bus / J1939 data links / Multiplexing / Vehicle Electronic Programming Stations (VEPS). o Automotive displays (LCD, Touchscreen, etc.). o Automotive Wiring /Harnesses. o DFMEA, DVP&R, and other essential Engineering Processes. o Familiarity with Matlab and Simulink Software.
