Financial Services Practice

RSM's Financial Services practice serves clients in the asset management, capital markets, financial institutions, specialty finance, and insurance industries.

Our team focuses on tax compliance and consulting for complex funds in the asset management industry.

Job Description: Tax Manager

As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for three core concepts: Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing detailed review and analysis of complex Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and/or FoF partnership tax returns.
Serving as a Career Advisor by training, developing, mentoring, and coaching employees.
Working on multiple complex issues and communicating with clients and service teams.
Serving as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients.
Advising clients on RSM's tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activities.
Reviewing research findings and ensuring conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
Assisting with new business development, extended services, and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
Managing client needs with cross-functional engagement teams across the tax practice.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
5+ years of experience in business taxation with a Big 4 or large national, regional, or local accounting firm.
An active CPA, JD/LLM, or EA certification.
Prior tax compliance and consulting experience serving Asset Management clients.
A working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.
The ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or collect necessary information.
A proven track record managing client engagements from start-to-end.
