    A diversified global manufacturer with a strong presence in Grand Rapids is in search of a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join its team. The role involves supporting, facilitating, and executing company HR policies and programs, talent management, HR strategy, and employee relations in a union environment.     Senior Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities

    • Be a vital member of the plant human resources team, providing business support aligned with HR best practices and company goals.
    • Collaborate with the plant HR Director to lead the site's HR function, ensuring accurate interpretation and administration of policies and programs.
    • Promote a performance-based culture with the operations management team and assist in developing effective culture programs.
    • Partner with operations leadership to review employee evaluations, training needs, and manage the union grievance process.
    • Oversee talent acquisition efforts for hourly and entry-level management positions.
    • Foster strong relationships with employees, supervisors, and the HR team while maintaining an effective working environment.
    • Manage employee career development programs, including apprenticeship initiatives.
    • Provide coaching and support for career development, business decisions, and performance management.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and handle sensitive issues discreetly.
    • Collaborate with the Global HR Team and lead specialized projects.

    Senior Human Resources Generalist Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
    • 7+ years of HR experience with 3+ years in a union environment.
    • Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an organized approach to decision-making.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; experience with SAP and ADP preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work independently or in a team environment.
