    Royalty Accountant


    Pay Range:
    $30-35/Hour


    We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Royalty Accountant to join our client's Finance and Accounting team in Everett, Washington.

    In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of royalty reports and payments.

    Your responsibilities will include recording royalty revenue and expenses in the general ledger, reconciling accrued balances, and collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.


    What You'll Do:
    Facilitate the intake and processing of new licensing agreements for the royalty team, including scheduling and inputting contractual payments.
    Assist in the preparation and input of monthly accruals into the ERP system.
    Prepare and execute monthly and quarterly royalty statements and payments.

    Collaborate with external licensors on monthly/quarterly sales reports, online data submissions, and other necessary information, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.

    Work alongside internal and external auditors to enhance and uphold SOX controls and control documentation.
    Partner with the internal licensing department to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

    Aid in the setup of new contracts and updates to existing contracts in contract management and royalty systems, offering support to licensors and conducting reconciliations as required.

    Maintain comprehensive and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

    What You'll Bring:
    An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in business, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
    At least 2 years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
    Prior experience in royalty reporting is advantageous, but not mandatory.
    Familiarity with contracts and contractual language is highly desirable.
    Strong organizational and time management skills enabling independent prioritization of multiple tasks and project completion in a fast-paced environment.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
    Experience working with auditors and knowledge of SOX controls is preferred.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and internet research.
    Advanced Excel skills including data organization, pivot table utilization, formula writing, report design, and data extraction.
