    Position Summary:

    The Hotel Clerk is often the first point of contact for guests and plays a pivotal role in ensuring a positive experience. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills to meet and exceed guest expectations.


    Responsibilities:

    The Hotel Clerk's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    Guest Services:

    - Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival and departure.

    • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
    • Assist guests with checkin and checkout processes.

    Reservations and Bookings:

    - Handle reservations and room bookings, including walk-ins and online reservations.

    • Ensure accuracy of guest information, payment details, and special requests.

    Customer Support:

    - Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and courteously.

    • Address and resolve guest complaints or issues with empathy and professionalism.

    Billing and Payments:

    - Process guest payments, including room charges and incidentals.

    • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain financial records.

    Room Assignments:

    - Allocate rooms and issue room keys based on guest preferences and availability.

    • Maintain room status information and communicate with housekeeping staff for room readiness.

    Front Desk Operations:

    - Keep the front desk area organized and well-maintained.

    • Monitor and maintain the availability of hotel brochures and promotional materials.

    Safety and Security:

    - Follow hotel security protocols, including verifying guest identities and monitoring access.

    • Assist with emergency procedures and guest safety as needed.

    Administrative Tasks:

    - Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports.

    • Manage guest records, registration cards, and other documentation.

    Qualifications:

    - High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality-related education a plus).

    • Previous experience in a customer service or front desk role is advantageous.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Basic computer skills for reservation and billing systems.
    • A courteous and professional demeanor.
    • Multilingual skills may be beneficial in serving diverse guests.
