    Summary of Position
    The UNH-4U & Bridges Associate Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IOD's youth transition focused initiatives and programs, including UNH-4U and Bridges. This individual will supervise staff who deliver direct services to transition age youth and young adults. The Associate Director will, in collaboration with the Director and program staff, develop and oversee the implementation of innovative, evidence-based practices in supporting young adults with intellectual and developmental disability to transition into community life. They will also support and direct marketing initiatives and student recruitment. This individual will have expertise in evidence-based practices for transition to adulthood for youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and possess strong leadership skills.

    Other minimum qualifications
    1. Master's level degree or higher in a clinical discipline, including Special Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language Pathology, or similar.
    2. At least 5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
    3. At least 1 year of experience serving as a supervisor.
    4. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based approaches for supporting transition to adulthood for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and measuring outcomes for this population.
    5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.


    Additional Preferred Qualifications
    1. PhD in social sciences or related field including Special Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language Pathology, or similar.
    2. Strong proficiency in data management using the Microsoft Suite and Salesforce.
    3. Knowledge of U.S. Education and disability policies.
    4. Strong skills in plain language and cognitive accessibility.
    5. Experience implementing evidence-based approaches for person-centered planning.
    6. Lived experience and/or connection to disability.

    Duties / Responsibilities



    Job Duties

    Duty/Responsibility
    Supervise, hire, and train UNH-4U and Bridges staff who directly serve students.

    Duty/Responsibility
    Develop and/or implement evidence-based approaches to support young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to achieve transition-related and/or postsecondary education goals.

    Duty/Responsibility
    Engage in biweekly meetings with UNH-4U students, UNH-4U staff, and interdisciplinary teams to support the postsecondary education and transition goals of UNH-4U students.

    Duty/Responsibility
    Collaborate with UNH-4U and the Bridges Training Series staff to develop and deliver trainings that support implementation of best practices in transition to adulthood and inclusive postsecondary education for student employees, UNH staff, family members, young adults, and state agencies

    Duty/Responsibility
    Liaise with University of New Hampshire departments, state agencies, and community partners to support the full inclusion of students with intellectual disability and other disabilities on campus.

    Duty/Responsibility
    Collaborate with ThinkCollege National Coordinating Center and other inclusive postsecondary education programs to learn about and develop best practices for inclusive postsecondary education, provide oversite for data collection and monitoring.
