    Database Administrator (DBA)


    A leading multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund has an exciting opportunity open for a Database Administrator in their New York Office.

    You will be responsible for providing support to all production, UAT, QA, and development databases.

    These includes database health checks, performance efficiencies, security, database maintenance and patching, backup, restore and recovery, space management, replication, HA and DR, data migration and integration; enforce data policies and RBAC user access administration.


    This role comes with a huge amount of responsibility as you are the lifeblood of the trading business and requires someone who is motivated and driven to delivering the best results possible.

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent education

    3+ years of experience in a database administrator or engineer role

    Proficiency in MS SQL Server database management on-prem and on cloud (Azure and/or AWS)

    Willing to learn and support new database technologies

    After-hours and weekend support (very minimum and occational)

    Nice To Haves

    Exposure to other SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL or MariaDB)

    Familiarity with Python and Java

    Experience in a git-based change management workflow

    Knowledge and experience with database management automation
