- Data entry and navigation in Claims Management and other systems.
- Work directly with insurance companies seeking information.
- Match Memorandum Cost Reports to Accident Reports.
- Communicate with Law Enforcement agencies to obtain an officer's report, photos, or other details. Review Investigating Officer's Reports to determine at-fault parties for billing purposes.
- Process receipts for payments made to DOT from billings and process delinquent notices on past-due bills.
- Investigate and gather information requested by County Attorneys and respond accordingly.
- Entering Memorandum Cost Reports and Tort Claims into Claims Control System.
- Work within an Electronic Records Management System (ERMS).

The Iowa Department of Transportation's Claims Management team is seeking an intern who is ready to jump in and gain some hands-on experienceIn this role you will gain working experience in the following:
This position will require strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work through tasks both independently and within a team.
Duration: 15-20 hours per week with possibility of extending to full-time hours during summer semester.Location:
Ames, IA. This position is required to be in office at least 1x per week.
Currently enrolled students in a degree program at an accredited educational institution.
