    Description
    Lee County is looking for skilled and dependable team members to help maintain and improve the spaces that serve our community every day. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping County facilities safe, attractive, and functional through expert painting and finishing work.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    What You Will Do
    • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching holes, and masking areas.
    • Paint a variety of surfaces, including walls, doors, floors, pipes, and parking lot markings.
    • Remove graffiti using cleaning solutions and pressure washing.
    • Stain and finish wood surfaces like doors and trim; occasionally refinish furniture.
    • Provide cost estimates and coordinate with vendors.
    • Use tools and equipment such as pressure washers, spray guns, brushes, rollers, ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
    • Handle hazardous materials safely and follow all safety practices.
    • Perform drywall repairs, apply texture finishes, install wallpaper, and cove base.
    • Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed.
    • Work in different weather conditions and perform physical tasks like lifting, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
    Education, Experience, Licensing
    What We're Looking For
    • High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Two (2) years of painting or related trade experience.
    • Ability to pass a respirator physical and become respirator certified within one year of hire.
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Will be required to undergo a fingerprint-based NCIC background check, and must be able to obtain security clearances from the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the State's Attorney's Office in addition to the standard Consumer Report-based background check that is required for conditional offers of employment.
    Supplemental Information
    Work Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Must be available for on-call shifts, overtime, and flexible hours as needed.
