    City Experiences is seeking a Training Specialist for our operation in Chicago, IL.

    About You:

    This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences RESPECT Service System.


    About the Opportunity:

    The successful training specialist facilitates, teaches, and maintains excellence in the day-to-day activities of the
    frontline Crew, is hospitable and cordial to coworkers and guests, and acts safely and responsibly.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Cruise Execution


    • Assist in managing the onboard Crew including recruitment, training, coaching, developing skills
    and retention.


    • Provide assistance to restaurant managers for Crew adherence to procedures detailed in the fleet
    training programs and Standard Operating Policies and Procedures. This includes thorough precruise preparation, adherence to cruise scripts, oversite and development of front-line Crew and
    proper execution of food & beverage service.


    • Participate in pre-cruise meetings and training topics and communicates and leads front-line Crew
    all necessary training for RESPECT, Safety, Sanitation, Service, Food and Beverage Menu. Maintain
    a standard of one training session every week.


    • Ensure that crew and guests adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
    • Ensure that crew is trained and consistently follows and adheres to proper food and alcohol
    service guidelines thereby ensuring the safety of each Guest.


    • Ensure that all Crew consistently follows and adheres to all health department sanitation codes
    and requirements thereby maintaining the Companys strict standards of sanitation. Leads
    standard sanitation training for all crews.


    • Observe and recommends frontline Crew that require further training and development to ensure
    proper and effective service.

    Crew Management


    • Coordinate and partake in delivering training to all new front-line crew, including both classroom
    and hands on training.


    • Lead by example at all times.
    • Develop positive working relationships with city department heads and peers.
    • Develop strong teamwork within the Crew.
    • Coach Crew through the guest experience on a training cruise
    Administration


    • Assist in recruiting all front-line crew when necessary to fill vacant positions, conducts interviews
    as needed and makes recommendation to hire.


    • Administer city Internship program including recruiting, hiring, training, coordinating work
    schedules, opportunities for growth and completing all necessary documentation.


    • Adhere to established training program, utilize training software, guides, checklists, quizzes, and
    feedback information to competently train each crew. Ensures compliance and completion of all
    paperwork and shadow shifts.


    • Ensure that all state and local health and alcohol control requirements are met onboard and that
    all employees are familiar with these requirements.


    • Attend all scheduled meetings.
    • Update and maintain all training manuals, quizzes, tests, and any other materials to ensure they
    are consistently up to date.


    • Operate all restaurant systems (PC, restaurant cost analysis software, etc.) Familiar with, or ability
    to quickly learn and adapt to all operational restaurant systems (PC, Timekeeping, reservations,
    Point of Sale).


    • Additional job duties assigned.

    Requirements & Qualifications:


    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • One (1) year experience in high volume restaurant preferred
    • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
    • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests
    and coworkers


    • Must possess a service orientation - actively looking for ways to help others
    • Basic computer skills are required
    • Will work for extended periods without sitting
    • Required to lift furniture and other heavy items such as dishes up and down stairs
    • Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays
    • Must meet minimum state age requirements
