    Job Description:
    STC is seeking multiple Software Developers to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Center for Environmental Information (NCEI). Within this role, you will be a major contributor in assembling, maintaining, and developing high-quality instrumental datasets for targeted stakeholder communities and commercial sectors. This role involves developing new products and services that are grounded in documented user requirements. These products can have a regional, national, or global focus, and they can employ a variety of data. Development activities will employ an Agile approach.     Job Requirements
    • Design, develop, test, and deploy operational software that generates new datasets, products, services, and reports. Tasks include, but are not limited to, code development, database development, web development, integration testing, readiness review, and operational release.
    • Incorporate NOAA and NCEI IT requirements (e.g., security protocols, ad hoc changes) into operational software and new releases.
    • Manage software using NCEI source code tools and maintain requisite documentation (e.g., business rules, operational procedures).
    Essential Requirements:
    • Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment.
    • Experience in the development and maintenance of scientific operational software.
    • Proficiency in a diverse range of programming languages including Oracle/APEX, Groovy, Java/Javascript, ArcGIS, Fortran, and Python.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of stakeholders.
    • Excellent documentation skills to maintain business rules and operational procedures.
    • Familiarity with IT requirements, data access and retrieval processes.
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 3 years of workrelated experience.
