    Description

    LEAD OPERATING ENGINEER/ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER

    • Responsibilities
    • Follow guidance from the Chief Engineer
    • Oversee daily operation of mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings
    • Conduct maintenance and repairs to various systems ensuring they meet standards
    • Supervise tenant services, maintenance, purchasing, and inventory control
    • Monitor and upkeep refrigeration, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and more
    • Address tenant service requests promptly
    • Develop and execute preventative maintenance program
    • Ensure timely completion of preventative maintenance tasks
    • Check quality and pricing of maintenance work by contractors
    • Evaluate building systems for efficiency improvements
    • Adhere to building policies and procedures
    • Be on-call engineer for office buildings as needed
    • Participate in emergency response and safety training
    • Perform work following safety protocols

    Core Competencies

    • Skills in organizing, problem-solving, self-awareness, technical analysis, communication, and more

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Universal CFC certification
    • Minimum 4 years electrical/HVAC experience
    • Knowledge of building automation, water treatment, and fire life safety systems
    • Interpersonal skills and positive team attitude
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office applications
    • Strong customer service focus
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work long hours, weekends, walk long distances, and lift heavy objects
