    Description

    Our client is a leading automotive industry supplier and has requested us to search for a seasoned Plant Manager for their Chicago IL manufacturing plant.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, including Operations, Mfg. Engineering, Controls Engineering, Information Technology, Maintenance, Materials, Quality, Human Resources, and Ergonomics Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) departments.
    • Own the development of all site key performance indicators (KPI's) with the executive leadership team and corporate functional group leaders; reporting performance, identifying gaps to plan, and root cause/permanent corrective actions monthly. These include:
    • Annual business plan
    • Monthly Bowler review
    • Weekly financial flash reporting, etc.
    • Clearly and effectively communicate plant and company goals, expectations and objectives to all staff and hourly team members.
    • Partner with corporate Business Systems leads to develop standard lean objectives and continuous improvement funnel for the site.
    • Identify and communicate site critical information and risks to site business plan through positive relationships with corporate and functional group leaders.
    • Foster environment conducive to identify and achieve continuous improvement activities above and beyond the business plan objectives.
    • Responsible for creating and sustaining an environment accountability for all site department leaders ensuring plant, company, and business objectives are met. to meet their performance objectives per plant goals, company goals and business objectives.
    • Own the day-to-day customer relationship, ensuring 100% OTD delivery to the customer sites through hourly production, delivery, and bank management.
    • Adhere to and promote the Vision and Culture Operating Philosophy and observe the rules, regulation and direction of the Employee Handbook and C.B.A.
    • Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.

    Basic Education, Experience, Core Competencies and Skills Required

    • Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing or management discipline or equivalent combination of work and education.
    • Minimum 7 years related experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the business as well as executive leadership.
    • Established familiarity with Lean Business Tools.
    • Previous direct P&L performance responsibilities.
    • Working knowledge and experience with Problem Solving techniques.
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years working with a Union workforce.
    • Possess excellent verbal, and written communications skills
    • Possess leadership abilities, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to delegate.
    • Work well in high pressure environments.
    • Proficient computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
