    This individual will be managing XPELs analytical laboratory supporting quality, R&D, and Manufacturing requirements across all of XPELs product portfolio and help drive efficiency and expand on current capability as appropriate to XPELs business needs.

    You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

    The ideal candidate for this position is a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of understanding our products and acknowledging with ease its strengths and limitations with the intent to steer the development and evolution of our solutions.

    The candidate also has very strong communication skills and manages to communicate with a variety of stakeholders within XPEL.The preferred location for this role will be at out of our office in San Antonio, TX.

    The Lab Manager will report to the Director of Technology.


    Major Job Responsibilities:
    Provide leadership to all activities related to functioning of the analytical lab team working across all organizations. Promote and develop safe operating practices following OSHA guidelines and per material SDS requirements Develop and maintain a high level of understanding of all testing standards relevant to XPELs product portfolio Provide guidance in developing and maintaining testing standards and rigor via regular internal audits Ensure maintenance of high data integrity standards employing sound statistical rigor( Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D, Lean etc.)
    to data generation using ASTM, ISO and other industry testing standards Ensure the development and maintenance of SQC charts, spreadsheets, SOPs and all relevant analytical results Ensure lab resource prioritization and testing needs as appropriate working closely with manufacturing, quality and technology teams Review and provide appropriate guidance in development laboratory test methods, calibrations and training Proactively communicate scheduling conflicts/issues to stake holders and develop sound resolution plans Provide strong leadership to the team and drive change for improved efficiencies Ensure appropriate budgeting and plan for future improvements to lab capability Foster a positive work environment and work toward building a high functioning collaborative team via team building activitiesQualifications:

    A strong analytical background in thermal, mechanical, and optical properties for polymer multilayer films using advanced analytical tools like DMA/DHR, DSC, FTIR, TGA, profilometer, optical microscopy, etc.

    The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing laboratory procedures, conducting root cause analysis, competitive benchmarking, Six Sigma, DMAIC experience, and leading continuous improvement initiatives Prior supervisory experience of 5+ years leading teams in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines Excellent project management/organizational skills, team building, scheduling, and communication skills Minimum of a Bachelors degree in STEM with 5+ years relevant experience.
