As (Controls Engineer) you will be responsible for;Supports the design of schematics and control panelsSupport & Complete commissioning of complex systems that integrate hardware and softwareRecommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfactionPerforms full range of standard work for the professional fieldIdentifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situationsDevelops the design of very complex systems that integrate hardware and softwareDevelops very complex material specification, schematic preparation, and appropriate follow-upGuides very complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system designPerforms advanced areas of work for the professional fieldApplies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently, including developing new solutions to existing opportunitiesDisplays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problemsLeads the largest complex projects, delegating most tasks to lower-level engineers.
Qualifications;Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or advanced degreeCandidates will have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in controls engineeringQualified candidates are proficient in planning, creating schematic and panel assembly drawings, working with PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), HMIs, and VFD's, implementation and commissioning of engineering design projectsDemonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignmentsDemonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issuesProficient in AutoCADProficient in either Rockwell or Siemens PLCsKnowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loopALTEN Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
