(Thalle) is excited to announce an open opportunity to expand our family of professional teammates Thalle is currently seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to fill a Concrete Quality Control Technician position on a 6 Year, $375M (+) USACE Lock and Dam project located on scenic Kentucky Lake in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.

This is a full-time on-site position reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager to perform quality control inspection and product review tasks to support the site Quality Control Team.

This role will interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Overview:

The Concrete Quality Control Technician is responsible for full inspection of products and installation to ensure compliance with the contract plans and specifications.

This position reports to, collaborates with, and follows the direction of the Quality Control Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect work during construction and during final inspection to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
Provide inspection for surface preparation, concrete testing data, formwork, misc. metals, reinforcing bar, water stop, concrete finish and curing operations.
Review installation plans and materials to ensure compliance with the contract document.
Prepare daily field inspection reports.
Report deficiencies to the project Quality Control and Operations Teams.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
An individual possessing an ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification or ten (10) years equivalent experience.
Ability to interpret complex construction plans and specifications.
Ability to write reports using Microsoft Word or Excel.
Ability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive construction environment.
United States Army Corps of Engineers Project Experience is preferred.
Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and within tight deadlines.
Prior heavy civil site project experience such as water control, dam, levee, concrete, and mass excavation experience


Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to move freely about a construction site that at times present a demanding terrain including, but not limited to climbing of ladders and stair towers, uneven and often wet surfaces, and slopes.

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
