    Responsibilities:

    Various Shifts Available

    Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and hospital policies and procedures, including those pertaining to confidentiality; demonstrates CPR according to American Heart Association standards; utilizes the principles of aseptic practice and initiates corrective action when breaks occur; establishes and maintains a sterile field; performs scrub duties; performs sponge and sharp counts; inspects sterile items for contamination before opening; decontaminates instruments according to unit protocols; provides direct patient care according to unit specific competencies; identifies and monitors medications administered from the sterile field; responds appropriately to emergency patient situations; utilizes a PC or terminal to access the Hospital Information System (HIS) and ORSOS system; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards and Electrosurgery Safety Policy and Procedures; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families, and members of the healthcare team in person and via telephone; responds to overhead pages; accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; participates on committees as assigned; participates in Performance Improvement activities as assigned; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime and call as required; must be available in hospital within (30) minutes of call; related duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a Trauma Operating Room or completion of a scrub technician training course and six months of experience in a Trauma Operating Room.
