Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant stepdown and acute care floor position requiring prior travel experience and Level 1 facility experience.

Details

Work setting is a mixed stepdown and acute care surgical floor in a hospital environment
Unit specializes in post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
ENT and/or transplant experience is preferred
Night shift schedule working 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
This is not a PACU position — OR candidates will not be considered
Requirements

Active RN license (OK state license or Compact/eNLC) currently in hand
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Stepdown/PCU experience required
Level 1 facility experience required
Acute care surgical floor experience required
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
Additional Information

Responsible for an assigned group of patients, including documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
Assists physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge information
Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible to return; extensions are permitted one time only, for a total of 26 weeks
Compliance onboarding (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — the facility is strict about compliance deadlines and will not negotiate start dates

American Traveler Job ID #P Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
