    Description

    Job Summary: The Director of Finance is responsible for accurately recording, reconciling, and reporting revenue transactions for the organization. This position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The Director of Finance works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze revenue data and support financial decision-making processes including budgeting and forecasting. External reporting around revenue is also a key component of this position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate recognition of revenue in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Transaction Recording: Record revenue-related transactions, including sales, contracts, invoices, and adjustments, in the organization's accounting system.
    • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of revenue accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of revenue transactions, contracts, and agreements for audit and compliance purposes.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare and assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures related to revenue, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
    • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process as it relates to revenue and associated narrative.
    • Analysis: Analyze revenue trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights to management and external stakeholders for decision-making.
    • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the organization's revenue recognition practices remain in compliance.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to review contracts, resolve billing discrepancies, and address revenue-related issues.
    • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue transactions.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of revenue accounting procedures.
    • Mentor and develop FP&A team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required and an advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred.
    • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification or equivalent work experience is required.
    • 10+ years of previous experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a services industry.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606 or IFRS 15).
    • Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, such as ERP systems and Excel, NetSuite experience desired.
    • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various teams.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Must be willing to work on-site in the headquarter office located in Conshohocken, PA.
