    Job Overview


    Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.

    We have an opportunity for a Sr. Medical Technologist to join our Galveston, Texas team.

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Medical Technologist leads the way for the clinical lab team.

    In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Laboratory Manager with Core Lab and Blood Bank daily activities, providing technical leadership for clinical staff, supporting diagnostic activities, and ensuring patient satisfaction, quality care and regulatory/accreditation standards are achieved.

    Hours of this position are Monday - Friday, 2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m., with minimal weekends (for coverage purposes) and rotating holidays.

    Qualifications

    Required Education


    • Bachelor of Medical Technology, CLS or Science required
    Required Experience


    • 5 years Clinical Laboratory required AND
    • 2 years Management/Supervisory required
    • Blood Bank experience preferred
    Required Certifications/Licensures


    • MLT (ASCP), MT or Equivalent certification required
    • Med. Tech license in state of Texas required
