    ST. MARK Catholic School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Office Assistant. Qualified candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced office, a background in customer service, enjoy working with children, and have a desire to work for a Catholic school.

    ST. MARK is a mid-sized Catholic Pre-K through grade 8 school in Vienna, Virginia. Our school has nearly 60 teachers and staff members, and we serve approximately 375 students in PreK – 8. ST. MARK is a warm, service-oriented parish and school, with a close-knit and supportive faculty and staff.

    Candidates for the Office Assistant position should possess an interest in working in a faith-based environment, and a willingness to lead students closer to Christ through the example they set. The Office Assistant will be the first person that all visitors to the school will meet and speak to on the phone, so a positive and outgoing demeanor is a must. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain focus in a fast-paced and ever-changing front office environment, and will be able to multi-task as needed to ensure all work is complete, accurate, and on time. The Office Assistant will also be privy to certain confidential matters, so it is imperative that this person have good judgement and practice discretion at all times.

  • Responsibilities:

    Arrange for substitute teachers as needed.

    Maintain records of employee attendance.

    Record all employee leave requests.

    Collect, verify, and submit timesheets for all hourly employees twice a month.

    Update daily student attendance using PowerSchool.

    Verify reservations and ensure payment for all aspects of school field trips.

    Update social media regularly to reflect school events.

    Be the first point of contact for the school, both in-person and over the phone.
