    Description

    The Estimator (Sports Construction) will conceptualize, prepare, and deliver pricing proposals to Sales and/or customers. This position is responsible for reviewing and translating drawings, specifications, procedural information and preparing a qualified scope of work and bid proposal including accurate estimation of labor, service and material. The Estimator will be a self-starter, able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to work as part of a team.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    This position will include, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Prepare detailed takeoffs from design renderings, specifications and architectural and technical drawings.
    • Comprehensively analyze plans, specifications, proposals and additional documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects
    • Accurately estimate required labor, service and materials necessary to fabricate and install product.
    • Frequently communicate and collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production and Project Management to understand scope, timelines, applicable project deadlines and any changes made to original proposal.
    • Create concise proposals specifically detailing inclusions, exclusions, clarifications to bid.
    • Apply sound judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to each estimate and to the business as a whole.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field
    • Experience estimating from conceptual, schematic and design development drawings
    • Estimating experience in construction, construction materials or custom manufacturing
    • Experience working with take-offs, bid documents, scope sheets
    • Expertise reading and interpreting contracts, drawings and specifications.
    • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with take-off software a plus.
    • Ability to manage multiple estimates and/or projects concurrently.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
    • High emotional intelligence with respect to problem solving, collaboration, and effectively dealing with customer needs.
    • Strong math, technical writing and verbal communication skills required.
