    John Hospital:
    John Hospital was founded in 1952 and is a regional referral teaching hospital.

    We provide comprehensive accredited training to over 200 resident physicians, 30 fellows, and 56 core medical students in accordance to ACGME requirements.

    Level I Trauma Center with a Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure Center accreditation
    Averaging 28,000 admissions, 3,000 births, 15,000 inpatient/outpatient surgeries and over 105,000 ER visits annually
    Clair and the five Grosse Pointe communities; private parks, boutique shops, art galleries, coffee shops and restaurants
    Home to Belle Isle Island and Aquarium, Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Opera House, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Fisher Theatre, and four professional sports teams
    Provides care to the newborns admitted to the inpatient units under supervision and in consultation with neonatologists

    Coordinate clinical care to the newborns admitted in the newborn intensive care unit, provide delivery room stabilization and accompany the transport team.

    The neonatal nurse practitioner is an integral member of the clinical team in NICU
    Gathers relevant data from available records, performs assessment of the newborn and formulates plans of care and monitoring
    Orders tests and follows up on the results, performs procedures and documents in the electronic health care record
    Communicates with the subspecialists, nursing staff and ancillary services
    Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources
    Counsels and educates families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources
    Documents delivery of health care in accordance with specific specialty area standards
    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

    Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

    Master's degree of Nursing required.
