    An experienced and collaborative engineering manager, you are an empathetic leader, and a strong communicator.

    You thrive in a startup environment, have experience building up engineering teams to productize research, and have prior experience managing machine learning teams.

    You are passionate about pushing the state-of-the-art in deep learning ethically.

    As an Engineering Manager in Machine learning, you will work closely with our Engineering Leadership to instill best practices, execute on complex pioneering deep learning efforts, and mentor our team mates.

    You will lead our team in improving our state-of-the-art text-to-speech models alongside content moderation. You will be leading both our data engineers and software engineering in maturing our platform and applying our research.
    Build out our machine learning team from 5 to 10 through thoughtful planning and onboarding.
    Roadmap machine learning initiatives, and keep people up-to-date. Ensure that complex projects be planned, executed, and successfully delivered according to common cross-team standards.

    Manage multiple machine learning projects simultaneously, leading backlog grooming and sprint planning, and generally ensuring that deliverables are met on time.

    Adapt and train the team in best practices for machine learning and software engineering. This includes adhering to the scientific process for research. And various engineering philosophies including testing, documentation, readability, defensibility, etc.
    Help build customer empathy by introducing, discussing and reviewing customer use-cases.

    To thrive in this role, you ideally have experience developing and extending difficult deep learning models in PyTorch, an aesthetic for crafting readable delightful code, and a genuine care for employees as people.

    Experience leading the development of a mature production machine-learning service.
    ~You deeply understand deep learning RND workflows, practices, and techniques.
    ~2+ years of experience managing a software engineering team.
    ~ You are proficient in software development practices, including specing, documenting, testing, reviewing, deploying, and monitoring, and are passionate about writing clean, defensible code.
    ~ Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
    ~ You are flexible and capable of working with a diverse team with various communication styles and needs. Citizen or Permanent Resident

    The hiring salary range for this role is $180,000 - $210,000 and represents the target offer range given the scope and experience expectations for this role.
