    The Opportunity

    Reporting to and under the general direction of the Director of Engineering, the Electro-Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining competitive and innovative products to meet customer requirements and engineering milestones. The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering designs and assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering with mechanical and electrical engineering as the foundation. This position will also participate in independent studies & concept formulation, analysis, prototyping, testing, transition to production and sustaining engineering. In this role, the employee's work is not supervised in detail, but high-level technical guidance may be provided by the Director of Engineering. This is an in-office position.

    Necessary Skills

    • Using Solidworks, create 3D solid models and detailed 2D drawings from concept through detailed design, metals, design reviews, manufacturability, cost, regulatory standards, schedule, lean manufacturing, etc.
    • General knowledge of electrical circuits (PCBAs) and MCU integration/programing.
    • Test current and future products to ensure all products pass consumer safety standards.
    • Create Bill of Materials, Assembly Instructions (SOP), Test Reports, Design Review Presentations, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Corrective Action Report (CARs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and the like.
    • Create drawings and other documentation to RPG Brands standards and procedures.
    • Ability to program manage and lead engineering teams in the US and other countries around the globe.
    • Represent RPG Brands as a technical knowledge base for electric fireplace design and production.
    • Work with Consumer Safety Certification agencies to certify fireplace products.
    • Engineering Change Management and Configuration Management.
    • Communicate with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders around the globe with Video Conferencing, phone, email, and face to face.
    • Give technical guidance to other Product Engineers.
    • Interact with suppliers with respect to samples, tooling, sourcing, project timing, design changes, and testing, etc.
    • Create Gantt charts for project timing and take responsibility for the project management, Engineering tasks, and successfully transition on the new product into production.
    • Be open to exploring new ideas with a desire for continuous growth and learning.
    • Hands on engineering lab testing of prototypes and construction of prototypes.

    Travel

    • US and/or international travel is approximately 15%.
    • Must have or be able to get a Passport.

    Preferred Experience

    • 8-12 years experience in engineering development , preferably with electric fireplace products or similar

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
