- Assist with the administration of the Department's Oracle (12c & 19c) databases in a Solaris-based production environment.
- Participate in all stages of database implementation and deployment, including analysis, review, and coordination of new database requests.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance issues.
- Provide administration and support for Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports.
- Maintain and support server hardware with Sun Solaris operating systems.
- Ensure adherence to departmental data model design standards and best practices.
- Coordinate and deploy application changes to production databases, following industry best practices and departmental procedures.
- Write and utilize SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Database Triggers for enhanced security and performance.
- Develop and implement custom scripts and processes for data loads, cleansing, and migration across various data sources.
- Identify and address database performance issues using diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database performance.
- Manage allocated hardware resources to achieve high availability and optimal database performance.
- Design, implement, and maintain database maintenance scripts, including replication and monitoring.
- Perform daily operational tasks such as monitoring, statistical analysis, and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Design and maintain automated processes using DBA jobs, DBA scheduler, and CRON scripts.
- Attend assigned meetings and departmental training.
- Complete weekly Project Reports and Project Timesheets.
- Minimum 10 years of IT business/industry work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle Database Management Systems administration.
- Experience with Sun Solaris operating systems and Oracle WebLogic.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting multiple complex databases with high availability and data security.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional.
- Experience leading database planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Experience with Sun Solaris installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience working in a Unix environment.
- Extensive experience diagnosing and resolving database infrastructure issues.
- Extensive experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Database Triggers.
- Experience in logical database and data model design.
- Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

- Five years of relevant work experience in IT, systems analysis, or program development.
