    This position is on-site in San Mateo, CA, USA.

    Your Role

    This is an opportunity for an early career Electrical Engineer to both grow and develop skills while playing a crucial role in the design of next generation tire inflation products and the continued scale-up of the Halotm Connect and related products. You will work as part of an agile team of product design engineers, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers and other business stakeholders and functions to design, refine, sustain, and test electrical subsystems, new electronic devices and control algorithms, and take products from concept to high volume manufacturing release in the automotive space.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Design and sustain mixed signal electronic schematics and printed circuit board layouts.
    • Verify electronic circuits and designs using simulation tools against technical, performance, and reliability requirements.
    • Bring up prototype electronic systems and whole assemblies for lab and field testing to verify and validate designs against industry standards and in real world settings.
    • Work with cross functional teams to define and execute EMC, environmental, and reliability tests.
    • Work with vendors to define printed circuit board assembly tests and influence production test strategies.
    • Build and release ECO's in Arena PLM, following Aperia best practices and policies.
    • Some domestic and international travel may be required.

    Skills/Qualifications

    • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering, Master's preferred, and 2 year's experience in product development ideally in automotive or other high volume, high reliability industry.
    • Skill with electronics design tools, Altium highly preferred, and design simulation tools and lab test equipment.
    • Experience/interest in mechatronics and control problems of mechanical dynamic systems.
    • Familiarity with firmware development is a plus (C/C++).
    • Ability to script and automate tests and electronic test equipment is a plus.
    • Ability to solder and repair fine pitch electronic components for prototyping purposes.
    • Experience/interest in highly cost optimized, high reliability designs.
    • Experience and knowledge in any of battery management, generators, radio frequency (RF) communications, Bluetooth, antenna design, mesh networking are all desirable.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated, independent, curious and driven to learn and improve.
    • Strong problem analysis and solving skills.
    • Bonus points for HAM radio enthusiasts

    Pay Range: $110,000 - $140,000

    *Base salary only. Salary dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location.

    **Additional compensation may include equity, bonuses, stipends, medical, dental, vision, 401-k, and long-term disability insurance.
