Collaborate with Primary Care Physicians, Consultants, and outside providers Coordinate medical care for ten individuals On-call requirement to respond via phone/in-person to emergencies Provide technical support to non-licensed staff regarding healthcare services and medication administration including g-tube feeding & medication administration.
Training & Monitoring of non-medical staff on g-tube feeding & medication administration, Foley Catheter, and Colostomy Bag. Monitor record keeping/documentation for accuracy and detail. Perform monthly assessments of resident status. Development & review of Nursing Care Plans. Performs other related duties as assigned. The City of Chesapeake offers an exceptional range of benefits. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in nursing
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of three years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES :
Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or a reciprocal state (according to the Nurse Licensure Compact as prescribed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing).
May require a valid driver's license with a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT :
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN )
