    The Commercial Construction Safety Manager will work in areas such as fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined space, crane equipment operations, electrical, incident investigation, and other safety/health-related training. This position will also educate and train all Austin Commercial personnel in federal, state, and local laws, and Austins safety, health, and environmental policies.

    **Functional Areas of Responsibility Include:**

    Oversees HSE program implementation as agent for the owner

    Facilitates site safety inspections

    Builds working relationships with staff and subcontractor safety representatives

    Creates accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents

    Represents the company in a positive and professional manner with owner and subcontractors

    Creates and facilitates safety training on a variety of subjects that align with particular project schedules

    Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, architects, etc.)

    Participates in safety organizations outside of the company and in assigned region

    Ensures compliance with the companys current safety manual, policies, and expectations

    Assists safety director in conducting seminars, project interviews, committee meetings, project start-up meetings, accident investigations, and audits.

    **Requirements:**

    The Construction Safety Manager must have at least six years experience solely dedicated to commercial construction/industrial safety.

    Bachelors or Associate's degree is preferred.

    Safety certification from an accredited organization, such as BCSP or an equal alternative. Examples are ASP, CSP, CHST

    OSHA 500 or 502

    This person must have experience in **commercial/industrial construction safety management**

    Exceptional verbal skills and concise communication are key to success in this role.

    Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.

    The Safety Manager must have practical knowledge, working experience, and continuing education in the areas listed above.
