- Assess and evaluate clients within the scope of Florida State and Federal guidelines, and Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Utilize nursing skills of interview, observation, and assessment to determine the medical needs of the client.
- Use the nursing process to plan for ongoing assessment of risk factors and service as prioritized by the client being seen.
- Provide direct services to clients including immunization, administration of ordered medications, phlebotomy, urine collection and finger sticks, and other testing or services which fall within the nursing practice.
- Record client data in computer timely and accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and client interactions and services according to HIPAA privacy policies.
- Complete timesheet, EARS, and mandatory training in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to assess clients and make sound nursing judgments independently.
- Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices & techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, utilizing approved abbreviations.
- Ability to maintain accurate and appropriate medical documentation in EHR system.
- Ability to safely administer medications and immunizations within scope of nursing licensure.
- Ability to work with persons of a different race, language, culture, or socioeconomic status.
- Ability to learn and maintain proficiency of computer skills & new programs required by Clinical Health Services division.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code or possess a nursing multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Fluency in English and Spanish both verbal and written
- Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

This is a Registered Nurse (RN) position working in the Refugee program at the Florida Department of Health in Collier County.
