- The Nuclear Medicine PET CT Technologist uses radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, supporting physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Types of imaging exams include NM Bone Scans, NM Amyloid Scans, NM Cardiac Exams on Nuclear imaging systems, and Copper 64, Pylarify Prostate Imaging, Rubidium Cardiac exams on the PET CT Scanner.
- Therapeutic treatments like I 131 Thyroid Therapy, Y 90 Liver Ablation, and Xofigo Prostate Therapy are also administered.
- Operate imaging equipment following guidelines and safety protocols.
- Handle emergency situations per policy.
- Provide on-call coverage.
- Conduct quality control checks and report equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with IV-line placement, vital sign checks, and record-keeping.
- Train student technologists and collaborate with physicians on protocols.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and ensure proper use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Produce and analyze diagnostic images, maintaining quality standards.
- Apply radiation protection measures for patient and personal safety.
- Stay updated on imaging systems and electronic medical records.
- Associate's Degree from an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program (New Grads welcome).
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Six months of General Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
- One year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist.
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine Imaging.
