Welder / Fitter

Opportunity Summary:

This position is within the Operations team. The Welder Fitter's primary responsibility is to complete welding assignments using various welding approaches (Mig - Metal Inert Gas, TIG - Tungsten Inert Gas, and /or Stick/Arc Welding) per established guidelines and standards. Proper fit and weld of products is a very important role within the company as our customers expect a quality product configured to meet their needs. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday on first shift. Additional overtime may be available Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed.

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together according to blueprints, written, and verbal instructions
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for final welding
• Select equipment and plan layout of assembly for welding
• Setup welding machines based on the job at hand
• Use a variety of hand and power tools as needed
• Inspect items as instructed and provide feedback to management to ensure any quality defects can be avoided in the future
• Maintain a clean work area, returning equipment and tools at the end of the day
• Assist other departments and functions as needed

Requirements:

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and detailed written and/or verbal instructions
• Ability to Fit to Print
• Self-motivated and requires minimal supervision
• Consistent and timely attendance
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Exercise personal responsibility and perform work consistently to required standards
