    This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    General Summary of Duties: Under general supervision, the Patient Services Specialist is responsible for handling a variety of administrative duties to facilitate the efficient flow of patients at a clinical office while ensuring a positive patient experience by demonstrating quality customer service skills.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Greets parents/patients arriving for appointments.

    Assists parents with the completion of paperwork for new patients and newborns.

    Verifies insurance for patient appointments.

    Checks the Kiosk daily to ensure proper functioning.

    Assists parents/patients with check in via the Kiosk and monitoring time usage to ensure timely patient flow.

    Monitors incoming faxes and processes and/or distributes as deemed appropriate.

    Faxes documents as required.

    Checks patient schedules daily to ensure accuracy and that necessary paperwork is present.

    Performs Gaps-in-Care communications with parents/patients.

    Answers patient questions and concerns.

    Scans documents into eClinical.

    Assists parents/patients picking up shot records, school excuses, and other paperwork.

    Receives, sorts and distributes mail.

    Performs related duties as required.

    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    Working knowledge of relevant policies and regulations.

    Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.

    Works effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.

    Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
