Description:
The Safety Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing internal communication strategies that boost employee engagement and alignment with the company's vision and strategic goals.
Working closely with the Internal Communications Manager, this role involves collaboration with various departments including Safety, Wellness, Asset Protection, Pipeline Safety Management and Workforce Compliance to ensure a cohesive and impactful communication approach.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the implementation of comprehensive internal communication strategies and initiatives, focusing on enterprise content creation, event organization, and executive communications related to Safety, Wellness, Asset Protection, Pipeline Safety Management and Workforce Compliance.
· Lead the creation and dissemination of engaging enterprise communications related to key programs such as Critical Risks, Stop Work Authority, and National Safety Month, among others, to foster a culture of safety and well-being and ensure message alignment.
· Support special projects as needed including Front Burner enterprise leader of people toolkit.
· Write, edit and proofread employee news stories for the company intranet and employee mobile app by coordinating appropriate approvals from key business partners for internal and external dissemination (social media).
· Develop and edit a variety of internal communication materials, including but not limited to talking points, emails, newsletters, and promotional materials, to support company initiatives and enterprise events.
· Serve as a resource and consultant to individual departments to review their communication messages and methods.
· Conduct ongoing communication audits to evaluate effectiveness, receptivity, and recall of current communication methods and take appropriate action based on the audit results. Looks for opportunities to automate communication processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required):
· Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a communications role.
· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
· Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content under tight deadlines.
· Proven experience in managing executive-level communications.
· In-depth understanding of strategic communication practices, including digital, media, and social media engagement.
· Strong project management skills, with a track record of efficiently managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
· Comfortable handling ambiguous situations and capable of identifying effective solutions.
· Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
