Job Summary

Morgue attendant provides proactive and extensible solutions to ensure a stable morgue. Position will be responsible for handling deceased patient care in the Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Will be responsible to review and complete all necessary documentation and work in coordination with the Mortality Coordinator and the Coroner's Office.

Responsible for confirming identification of deceased, accepting remains into the morgue, and releasing the remains as appropriate/ Also responsible to assist the Coroner's Office , Medical Examiners/Pathologist with task as required.

This is a 40 hour per week position 1 FTE

Accountabilities

• Retrieving and intake of Greenville Memorial deceased patients from room, Emergency Trauma Center, etc during normal business hours as well as coordinate the intake of deceased from the Coroner's Office into the Prisma Health Morgue.
• Confirm identification of remains and maintain accurate roster of remains on site at all times. Complete all necessary documentation to ensure integrity of morgue activity and files.
• Complete all documentation to include Burial Removal Transport Permits for Prisma Health and the Coroner's Office
• Coordinate the notification and release of all bodies to mortuaries
• Provide necessary information with and work with the Mortality Coordinator to ensure all documentation is correct and submitted in an appropriate manner on time.
• Manage the morgue and appropriately document location of each deceased person in both facilities
• Assist Pathologist, Medical Examiner and Coroner as required

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
