    Description

    Summary: The engineer in this position will verify the feasibility of engineering designs for manufacturing, oversee and resolve technical manufacturing issues, create, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, and work as a liaison between the Customer & the Production. The role is in Garden Grove, California.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Understand and comply with the Quality Management System specified by Latcore.
    • Review equipment designs created by the Customer or the Engineering Department to ensure manufacturability.
    • Verify engineering design documents.
    • Coordinate with the Customer or Engineering and Production teams to create Manufacturing Procedure Manuals
    • Coordinate with the Customer or Engineering and Production teams to confirm all changes in manufacturing processes/parts/modifications prior to building units; ensure all changes are reflected in relevant documentation and accurately relayed to production team.
    • Create training and development for production team and implement into operating methods and/or procedures.
    • Serve as the link and assist in establishing smooth communication between the Customer or Engineering and Production teams.
    • Execute hands-on testing of first build equipment, assist with testing technical issues for subsequent builds.
    • Manage tools and equipment used during production, ensuring calibration, maintenance, and presence of tools and equipment.
    • Assist the production manager with development and implementation of operating methods & procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
    • Review completed products to ensure compliance to engineering design & adherence to manufacturing procedure manual.
    • Notify the Quality and NPI manager of any new training/skills required for specific processes or manufacturing procedures, to ensure that the proper personnel are performing the proper tasks.
    • Work with the production manager to analyze and improve production flow i.e.: adjust floor layout, personnel, tool placement, etc.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Education/Experience & Skills:

    • Minimum BS degree in either Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Aviation or Aerospace Engineering
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering preferred.
    • Proven attention to detail
    • Obsessed with quality and operational excellence.
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong written, personal, technical and software skills
    • Knowledge of 2D drawing software
    • Knowledge of French language is a plus.

    Pay range: $67,000 - $75,000.

    This work will be split between an office environment and the production floor.The noise level on the production floor is moderate. Must be able to lift up to 20lbs unassisted or 60lbs assisted. Occasional travel to vendor/customer manufacturing sites may be required.
