Department Purpose
As part of the Office of the Chancellor, Government and Community Relations (GCR) serves as an official campus voice to elected officials and their staffs, community organizations, and opinion leaders by providing support and guidance to campus leadership, faculty, students, staff, and volunteer leaders in their interactions with local, state, and federal government officials on behalf of campus initiatives, priorities, and issues.
The department also spearheads UC Davis and UC Davis Health efforts on UC legislative priorities, budget advocacy, and community relationships.
