    About Us:


    The Three Village Academy is a small alternative secondary school for students who have not experienced success in a more traditional high school setting.

    Our school is committed to providing students with quality instruction in a climate that is nurturing, supportive and responsive to the academic, social, and emotional needs of our student population.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A valid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), and/or School Building Leader (SBL).
    • Minimum of five years of successful teaching and administrative experience at the secondary level with special education students.
    • Proven record of fostering a positive school culture, promoting academic achievement, professional development opportunities and enhancing student engagement and success.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, crisis intervention and crisis management skills.
    • Flexible leadership style, one that is responsive to students, teachers, and the school culture.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, emphasizing a team approach to planning and problem solving.
    • Experience with New York State graduation requirements, pathways, and vocational programs.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of restorative practices and their implementation.
    • Comfort with being highly visible, approachable, and available throughout the school day.
    • Ability to develop quality relationships with staff and students and their parents.
    • Creative problem solver, with a willingness to explore alternatives directed at intended outcomes and is current on best instructional practices in alternative educational settings.
    • Ability to design an organizational culture, school policies and procedures that reflect an understanding of the clinical/psychological and developmental needs of the students.

    Position Requirements:


    As the administrator of our Alternative High School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for students who require a non-traditional approach to learning.

    You will lead a team of educators dedicated to providing personalized support, innovative teaching methodologies, and a nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal growth.

    The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for empowering students, and a commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide instructional leadership and support to promote student achievement and success.
    • Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment conducive to academic excellence and personal growth.
    • Lead and facilitate professional learning experiences with staff on topics that increase the effectiveness of the instructional outcomes and classroom management.
    • Support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students through the implementation of comprehensive student support services and restorative practices.
    • Facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty and staff.
    • Serve as an advocate for students and staff to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
    • Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, facilities, and technology, to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
    • Cultivate partnerships with parents, community organizations, businesses, and higher education institutions to enhance educational, vocational and employment opportunities for students.
    • Complete secondary classroom observations and evaluations (multiple locations).
    • Master scheduling responsibilities.
    • Alternative education duties, assigned as needed.
    • Assist with transitional planning in the move of middle level students to be included in the Academy.
    • Work with the high school leadership on various areas related to the secondary program.
