    The successful candidate will assist the marketing strategist with designing, scheduling, and executing strategic marketing plans that support the goals of The Arboretum and Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.

    Job description and position requirements:

    Key responsibilities will include: creating engaging social media content, maintaining and updating website content, writing and executing email communications, and managing online advertising efforts. The candidate should be proficient in various social media, design, and web management platforms. A strong capability to analyze and report on engagement metrics and website traffic is preferred, as is excellent content writing and editorial skills.

    Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the creation and execution of strategic marketing plans for The Arboretum at Penn State and Shaver's Creek Environmental Center, utilizing a mix of print and digital media.
  • Plan and produce engaging social media content that follows best practices and industry trends to connect with target audiences.
  • Graphic design for social media, flyers, and advertising.
  • Support the maintenance and content update of websites.
  • Draft and send out email communications.
  • Manage placement of online advertising.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on social media engagement and website traffic, ensuring alignment with university editorial policies and accessibility standards.
  • Education and Experience:

    A bachelor's degree plus one year requirement. We encourage candidates who demonstrate the experience and ability that advances Outreach's foundational focus goal in DEIB.

    This is a % FTE role working hours per week. Full Penn State Benefits included.

    This is a hybrid position due to the need to support on-site marketing and promotional needs for The Arboretum and Shaver's Creek Environmental Center. On-site needs include photography, program/event marketing support, and general relationship and community building for important meetings and events.

    This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
