    CNA/NURSE ASSISTANT

    The CNA/Nurse Assistant works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) toprovide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well-being of the patient and family.

    Otherfunctions/competencies of the position may include unit clerk, monitor technician, general clerical activities of daily living and basic nursing procedures. Performs duties and presents in a manner that would lead tohigh levels of patient satisfaction. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team. This position reports to theUnit Leader. This position is hourly (non-exempt).

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Participates in routine activities of patient care for the specific unit/department population;

    Performs delegated care tasks in timely, efficient manner, and under the guidance of the RN/LPN.

    Contributes to continuity of care and effective communication by reporting care provided and changes in the patients condition to the primary nurse or designee in a timely fashion;

    Education and experience:

    A high school diploma or equivalent is required; successful completion of a nurse assistant certificationpreferred.

    Licensure, registration or certification:

    Certification as a nurse aide by the state of Kansas is preferred;

    Certification in CPR/Basic Life Support required.

    2 evening openings 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. (3 days on/4 days off)

    Pay: $12 - $21 per hour (depending on experience and shift)

    DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Upholds Companys vision, mission, and core values.

    Follows hospital-wide and departmental policies, including but not limited to general procedures, assignedduties, confidentiality, and observing the Patients Bill of Rights.

    Assists the professional nursing staff with delegated basic patient care tasks;

    Identifies and reports to the RN/LPN any changes in patient status in a timely fashion;

    Demonstrates willingness to work additional shifts or float to other units as needed;

    Implements standard precautions appropriately;

    Maintains orderly patient environment by performing light housekeeping and equipment cleaning;

    Transport specimens, supplies, equipment, and patients as delegated;

    Performs unit specific competencies as assigned;
