Clinical opportunity at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri.

Hours of Performance: The performance hours of the Military Treatment Facility are as follows: For the family practice providers:

The providers shall be able to provide services between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday excluding holidays. A minimum break of 30 minutes will be given during the shift if patient care permits. Shifts may be 8-10 hours in length and 4-5 days per week at the discretion of General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital (GLWACH) for a total of 40 hours per week. (Total contract outpatient hours per year = 1800) Work hours and days will be determined by GLWACH. Schedules are subject to change due to cancellations, hospital staff changes, organization day, emergencies, exodus, training holidays and unexpected events. Schedules are made in advance for a six week period. Some HCW shifts may be less than 8 hours for example during inclement weather. All work shall be performed during the scheduled hours. Overtime, extra time and comp time are excluded from being paid. Only 40 hours per week shall be paid.

On-call inpatient services shall be required. The providers shall be required to provide telephonic consultations to the attending physician in emergency cases. Carrying a beeper or pager shall not qualify as on-call services. The contractor shall wrap all possible on-call costs into the on-call CLIN. Staying late/arriving early to complete charts, check test results, etc. fails to meet the definition of on-call services.

On-call service is defined as actual patient care performed in GLWACH after the scheduled shift ends Monday-Friday and on weekends and holidays, the provider must be on call that day and called back in to see a patient. The contract providers are not required to remain at a place of residence while on call, but shall be available by Government furnished pager during on-call periods. The providers shall respond telephonically within 10 minutes of the page being sent and shall be prepared to provide services in GLWACH within 30 minutes of the page being sent or as soon as needed. The Contractor may only bill for the time personnel are actually providing health care services at GLWACH. On-call services shall be available on a rotational basis including weeknights, holidays and weekends, one third of the time for the contract period. Call will be one third of the time, 122 days over 12 months, for weeknights (for example 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and weekends (for example Friday evening, 4:30 p.m. through Monday morning 7:30 a.m or 7 p.m to 7 a.m.). If the provider is on call on a holiday weekend, the on call period will include the holiday, training holiday (if any) and weekend. Call shall end on the next normal business day at the start of the scheduled normal shift. The HCW may or may not be required to work a normal day after being on call the previous night(s). It will be determined later what days the contract providers will be on call. There may be military providers during this period. The number of military providers is subject to change due to mobilization, ETS, PCS, TDY, deployments, etc. In some unexpected instances, on-call shall be every other day/week/weekend when the military providers are on leave, deployment, mobilization, ETS, PCS, or TDY. The HCW shall perform rounds while on-call. Some HCW shifts may be less than 8 hours. On-call services other than described above are not required. The HCW shall have eight hours between inpatient shift so provider is rested and fully physically and mentally capable for performing the duties required under this contract. During training holidays for active duty personnel, the clinic may be closed during normal hours or open with reduced staff and operations. The HCW may still be on-call though. During training holidays, contract employees will be required to work in outpatient clinics. Workload and mission requirements will determine whether the HCW will be required to provide services on training holidays.
