**POSITION SUMMARY:**

The Cook is responsible for the overall food preparation for patients, cafeteria, physicians lounge and catered events. Food products served should be of a certain quality and items that are not will be corrected immediately. The Cook will prepare and handle food items safely, perform daily sanitation practices, and follow all County, State and Regulatory agency guidelines. Employee must demonstrate how to handle both hot and cold food correctly, properly store and label food products, and protect food from contamination. The Cook will have a thorough understanding of how to properly maintain and operate kitchen equipment in a safe manner. Appropriate documentation of temperature logs, food records, and other department records are required daily.

**Qualifications**

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

**Experience** **:**

2 Years of Institutional Cooking Experience Required

Previous Healthcare Food Service Cooking Experience Preferred

Prior Customer Service Experience Preferred

**License/Certification** **:**

Clark County Food Handlers Card Required

Culinary Certificates a plus but not required

ServSafe Certification a plus but not required
