- Delivers safe, direct care to patients under the supervision of a preceptor.
- Assists in monitoring the health status of the patient or resident.
- Performs accurate reporting and recording of patient information, including vital signs, weight, behavior, and mobility.
- Anticipates and responds promptly to patient needs. Reports pertinent information to nursing team members.
- Assists in the inventory and maintenance of supplies, equipment and instruments.
- Attends and participates in scheduled training, observation, educational classes, and workshops.
- Serves as a patient advocate.
- Maintains friendly and courteous interpersonal communication skills and a positive service attitude.
- Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
- Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
- Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
- Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
- Must have completed sophomore year of high school and be between the ages of 16 – 24.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Customer service skills with the ability to work effectively and positively with a variety of patients, employees, departments, and the public.

Job Summary
The Healthcare Intern Program provides an opportunity for students interested in nursing, medicine, and other health science careers to explore these pathways and gain real-world experience.
Placement opportunities available in all clinical areas (i.e. clinic, dietetics, pharmacy, emergency services, oncology, surgical services, critical care, med-surg, mental health, radiology, rehab services, nursing home, laboratory, assisted living, chronic care, social services).

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
