    The Respiratory Therapist shall perform duties involved with the treatment, management control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and/or abnormalities within the Pulmonary system.

    This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.


    RRT

    • Degree in Respiratory Therapy required, Bachelor's of Science in Respiratory Care preferred.
    • If credentialed after 2002, must maintain active membership status for credentials issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
    • NBRC
      RRT and ASBRT
      RRT required. BLS required. ACLS & PALS preferred. NRP required for those qualified to work in NICU.
    • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Must have the ability to successfully complete work within rigid time constraints.
    • Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.

    CRT

    Education/Experience:
    Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

    Valid license from the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy and Certified Respiratory Therapist through the National Board of Respiratory Care or Graduate Therapist with a temporary license from the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.


    RRT must be obtained within 12 months in position.

    License / Certification required:

    Must obtain Certified Respiratory Therapist credential through the National Board for Respiratory care within 3 months of hire to position.

    Must obtain permanent license from the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy. BLS required. ACLS and PALS are preferred. NRP required for those qualified to work in the NICU.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Must have the ability to successfully complete work within rigid time constraints.
