Faculty - Philosophy (adjunct)

We are seeking a part-time Philosophy instructor to join our team at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. This position is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students in the field of Philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver high-quality course content, aligning with college objectives and meeting student learning outcomes

• Engage students effectively, providing prompt and respectful feedback

• Communicate and follow course syllabus content, adhering to administrative guidance and directions

• Collaborate with college support services to identify and address student academic support needs

• Utilize college technology for instruction delivery and operational processes, including the learning management system, email, calendaring solution, document management system, student information system, and employee portals

• Meet deadlines, maintaining accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks

• Ensure laboratories are stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order, when applicable

• Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty, and staff

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Philosophy or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in PHI prefix courses

Work Hours:

This faculty member will be on contract to teach face-to-face and online sections of Introduction to Ethics.
