    Summary of the Role

    The role of the Regional Director involves supervising the overall performance and operational triumph of multiple areas within a specific region. This includes ensuring customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and successful accomplishment of profit, productivity, quality, and safety objectives. The position requires efficient management of the annual operating budget and maintaining constructive relationships with customers and contractors while driving growth and achieving desired outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Execution of financial and operational objectives. Evaluation of organizational efficiency through the development, measurement, and reporting of operational KPIs (key performance indicators).
    • Provision of timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports on metrics. Regular communication to assess operational effectiveness, ensuring strong execution, alignment, and accountability.
    • Conversion of company's strategic priorities into short-term goals for the region. Collaboration with various departments to set up and execute short and long-term operational objectives, plans, budget, and forecasts based on the set goals.
    • Managing business to meet or surpass EBITDA targets as stipulated in the annual operational plan.
    • Analysis and interpretation of operational data, prioritizing resources for appropriate allocation.
    • Identification of opportunities in the region, implementing improvement strategies through enhancing people, performance, and procedures.
    • Driving change, transformation, and strategic implementation to achieve specific business outcomes. Establishing continuous improvement initiatives to support business growth and scalability.
    • Effective balance between operational efficiency and employee contentment to ensure profitability.
    • Ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations and company policies. Upholding strong business ethics in interactions with managers, customers, vendors, and employees.
    • Establishing and maintaining trusted relationships and teamwork. Leveraging relationships with other regions and internal teams to share best practices.
    • Understanding market and industry dynamics, maintaining contact with customers to ensure internal and external systems align with the company's vision and market leadership.
    • Fostering collaborative relationships with local utilities, community representatives, customers, and interest groups.
    • Providing effective coaching and mentorship to Area Managers within the region.
    • Collaborating with Human Resources to maintain positive employee relations.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 10 years experience in leading operations teams with proven success.
    • Over 5 years of accountable P&L management.
    • Bachelor's degree, while an advanced business-related degree is preferred.
    • Readiness to travel at least 50% of the time within Illinois.
    • Background in service industries, specifically with utility or infrastructure-related sectors. Familiarity with industry regulations.
    • Knowledge of the regional market, customers, and labor force.
    • Track record of building and managing large-scale, geographically diverse multi-unit businesses in a fast-paced, results-driven setting.
    • Proficiency in enhancing operational efficiency, revenue, and margin.
    • Skilled in implementing systems, policies, and initiatives for optimal business performance.
    • Competent in client retention and relationship building.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, great communicator, and collaborator.
    • Ability to motivate the region towards achieving set targets.
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities, adept at data usage and reporting tools.
    • Strategic and collaborative work across operational and functional departments.
    • Action-oriented and versatile in problem-solving.
    • Strong management and leadership capabilities, skilled in talent attraction, development, and retention.
    • Comfortable with calculated risks and fostering change.
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite and various data analysis tools.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
    • Willingness to travel as required.
