    Job Summary


    Under the general supervision of the Radiology Leadership Team, the System Lung Navigator will play a key roll in the close the loop process in Guthrie's CT Low Dose Lung Program as well as the Incidental Findings Program.

    They will assist patients through the process with In-Reach/ Out-Reach, CT Scan appointments and result follow up/tracking.

    Experience

    3 years broad Radiology experience preferred.

    Education

    Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved radiologic technology program.

    • And/OR
    • BA in a healthcare related field preferred

    Licenses:
    ARRT certification required

    Essential Functions


    • Educate patients, providers, and the community on LDCT by assisting in locating eligible patients through in-reach and out-reach collaboration.
    • Verify orders are completed for necessary imaging.
    • Remind patients of their screening appointments
    • Help patients with barriers in attending screening appointments.
    • Ensure proper follow up of results are communicated with the provider as well as the patient.
    • Assist patient with next steps.
    • Assist with data collection and program reporting.
    • Utilize EMR work ques to perform appropriate close the loop process for Incidental findings across all of Imaging.
    • Follow up with provider offices to request order placement.
    • Schedule follow up procedures.
    • Work collaboratively with central scheduling and prior authorization teams to establish appointments.
    • Work collaboratively with the Pulmonary Department as well as other necessary departments to establish continuum of care for all patient needs.
    • Understand functions of the LDCT program to include Lung RADs categories and appropriate follow up.
    • Submit required data collection to ACR for Lung Cancer Registry
    • Ensures that practices provide service/care that meets or exceeds patient care standards.
    Other Duties


    • Ensures compliance with standards and regulations from federal, state and local governments, as well as other regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission.
    • Resolves patient complaints emanating from areas of responsibility. Ensures that all significant patient complaints are reported promptly to the Patient Safety Team.
    • Works with appropriate personnel within the practices and the hospital to develop and implement marketing strategies for the practices. Assures representation of assigned practices at community events to ensure the practice's presence in the community. Stays abreast of health care topics that may interest the community.
    • Utilizes behavioral standards as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the department and the hospital's mission.
    • Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures.
    • Performs other duties as needed
