Summary:
This Administrative Officer role will oversee the clinical operations and academic office of the Development, Behavior, Learning Section of the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine within the School of Medicine and UNC Children's Hospital. The section is multidisciplinary with developmental-behavioral pediatricians, psychologists, social work and nursing. Currently there are three clinical sites - Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Sanford.
The Admin Officer will ensure optimal schedule utilization, billing practices, triage protocols, and clinical workflows. The individual will interface with EPIC support teams, central scheduling, finance and accounting, revenue cycle, residency program coordinators, among other groups across the healthcare system and UNC School of Medicine.
Additional responsibilities may include:
A successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, as well as strong organizational and multitasking skills.
The individual will operates in an administrative and managerial capacity in the direction of a department, or program. Responsible for human resources, purchasing, budget, and space allocation functions. Work includes direct supervision of employees in a department, division, or program area. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level administrator.
Responsibilities:
1. Develops department, division or program budget and/or oversees budget process. Authorizes payroll and purchasing expenditures.
2. Formulates processes and makes decisions on specific operating problems in accordance with departmental or institutional policies, precedents, and goals.
3. Monitors compliance with institutional, state and federal requirements.
4. Performs human resources functions, which may include recruiting, training, evaluating, counseling and disciplining.
5. Plans for major changes to and implements new intra- and interdepartmental systems. Recommends plans for fiscal resources, space utilization, and the operation of on-going programs.
6. Represents supervisor, department, division or program on committees and at meetings and conferences.
7. Responds to questions from other staff, patients, and the general public, which involve some level of interpretation and dissemination of departmental or institutional policies and programs formulates new or revised department, division or program policy as necessary.

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* If a Bachelor's degree: One (1) year of experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management.
* If an Associate's degree: Five (5) years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management.
* If a High School diploma or GED: Nine (9) years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management.
