Safety Manager

Lake Bluff, IL

Bilingual - Spanish preferred

Develop, update, and enforce safety policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Manage the annual safety budget effectively.
Continuously review and improve safety protocols to address emerging risks.
Conduct safety training sessions for employees, emphasizing compliance with regulations and best practices.
Provide ongoing education on new safety standards and procedures.
Establish clear communication channels for safety-related information across all departments.
Cultivate a culture of safety awareness through regular communication and campaigns.
Lead worker compensation initiatives, including investigations, documentation, and recommending preventive measures.
Monitor and analyze worker's compensation claims and OSHA recordables.
Generate reports on safety performance for management review.
Aim for a specific reduction in worker's compensation claims and experience modification rate (EMR).
Develop and manage a comprehensive return-to-work program for injured employees.
Coordinate with HR, medical providers, and insurance carriers to support injured employees during inspections and audits.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents.
Implement and maintain incident reporting systems.
Stay updated on changes in safety regulations to ensure compliance.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
Conduct drills and training exercises for emergency preparedness.
Regularly inspect work areas for potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective measures.
Conduct job hazard analysis for all applicable positions within the company.
Drive company vehicles to branch locations and job sites.
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Have proven experience as a Safety Manager, preferably in landscaping, construction, or related industries.
Hold certifications in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, ASP), if available.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including bilingual proficiency.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Hold a valid local driver's license with a good driving record.
Pass post-offer and periodic drug screenings according to DOT guidelines.
Be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
