    Description

    Duties:

    An excellent opportunity exists to work for a government contractor with competitive compensation and work-life balance. Posterity Group, LLC is seeking professional, experienced, Nurse Practitioners with a helpful attitude, to join our team in taking care of our Veterans at the Veteran Administration's Medical Center (VAMC) Fayetteville, North Carolina. The VAMC provides a great opportunity to provide outstanding Primary Medical Care to those who has served honorably in our Military Services. In any area of assignment within the HCS, the NPs provide diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up patient care. NPs participate in the care of inpatient and outpatient clients in an independent and interdependent role as assigned by the NP Professional Leader or Chief of Patient Care Services.

    Compensation:

    • Salary: $114,882 to $135,556
    • 3 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
    • 11 Federal Holidays

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • The NPs shall adhere to the policies of the VAMC which shall be provided by the Government upon assignment.
    • Executes position responsibilities independently and collaboratively in accordance with the scope and Standards of Nursing Practice within the specialty area.
    • Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff.
    • Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues while administering quality patient care.
    • Demonstrate advanced assessment and decision-making skills.
    • Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.
    • Documents care/visit in CPRS appropriately, accurately, and concisely. Utilizes POE.
    • Follows clinical guidelines and standards of practice as provided by VALLHS for health promotion, maintenance, and illness prevention.
    • Completes health histories and other clinical documentation consistently and with pertinent information.
    • Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.
    • Care and treatment plans are consistent with assessments. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests appropriately.
    • Selects/furnishes (prescribes) or recommends pharmacological agents and durable medical equipment appropriately.
    • Sets priorities to provide care in an organized and timely manner.
    • Presents cases in a concise, organized manner. Participates in professional development.
    • Evaluates own performance according to the Advance Practice Nurse (APN) Scope of Practice standards of professional and regulatory bodies and takes actions to improve practice.
    • Maintains mandatory requirements and competency standards.
    • Treats staff, patients and family with respect and dignity.
    • Uses clinical research techniques in decision-making and in making recommendations. Identifies and documents appropriate International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding for patient encounters.
    • Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
    • For Mental Health NP assignments will maintain panel of patients providing comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation and follow up care.

    Qualifications:

    • A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
    • Maters or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
    • Board Certified by the National Certification for APRNs (Advance Practice Registered Nurse.
    • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by an American Health Association Vendor.
    • Current certification in Advanced and Basic Life Support (ACLS/BLS).
    • A minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years. VA experience is desirable.
